Just changed oil and filter on my 2018 klx250s/330. 1.2 litres added. It's a little way over the halfway mark between the two lines on the glass.

My mechanic suggests taking it to the top line of sight glass saying it won't hurt. Does anyone else do this or aim for halfway?

I go half to 3/4

 

I just make sure it's not over filled or underfilled. That's the reason for two lines . Just make sure you are viewing it with the bike standing up vertical. Here it is from the manual


They probably use the two line setup to compensate for any minor error in holding the bike vertical

 

All I know is that they sure put the sight glass in an inconvenient spot.

 

Yeah, my friend didn't even know he had a sight glass on his till I told him where it was yesterday 😂

 

One thing I always liked about most Hondas - a dip stick.

 

Nothing like sticking the brake pedal right in front of it...

 

Maybe I'll get a piece of steel pipe, cut a chunk out and weld it into the brake arm so I can just look through it to see the oil level...
