OEM KLX300R header, mega bomb, or mega bomb knockoff?
Installed the new MegaBomb today and like the looks. Better yet, it quietened down the exhaust town noticeably.
A quick check with a manual micrometer showed that the FMF MegaBomb header is about 1/8" wider in diameter than the heavier steel OEM unit.

Got some bad news for you QOS. That's a Megabomb - if you really had your heart set on a PowerBomb, I'll trade you my PB for it.. LOL
You're now a CVK setup away from "state of the art" top end power.. toss in the MCM for "state of the art" overall power curves.. It's like getting a whole new bike - just ask Steff (Steffaroo83) - she just completed the final "piece of the puzzle" (the MCM) on her '07 and spend a day in the sand with it...

I don't know your alts.. But near sea level: Get a DJ144 or K158 main jet, move the clip to 1N (top notch with both washers above), install the STOCK slide spring, pull the lid off the airbox, make sure the filter is very clean, remove any "quiet tip", fire it up and HANG ON!
While I've posted the Dyno charts/proof, the 6.5k - 10.5k rpm power has to be felt to be believed.. Add MCM for best overall power levels..

I'm at 5000 ft (Atlanta GA)
I have the 2152 Dynojet Jet Kit installed with the 128 main. K&N filter. I tried running without the airbox cover, liked the power but hated the noise (personal pref). Have the KDX snorkel installed as a compromise. All the smog garbage is gone, too.
Also, why is the OEM carb spring better than the one DJ includes?
EDIT: reading your post from last year, I think I got the wrong jet kit. :/

You can get it directly from Dynojet for $2.00.... and they will ship it to you in a huge box for an additional $12.00....LOL
I'd try to luck into one on ebay, or go the the K158 (or whatever Klxster tells you once he figures in your altitude)

Ok then. With lid on - Snorkel or not - you don't need my advice. You just stick to the DJ instructions for the 2152 kit. Perhaps call DJ for jet choice @ 5K ASL..
The 2206 kit is designed to run lidless on a KLX300R - to use it on our KLX250's requires a modified install procedure..
Stock spring vs DJ spring is, likewise, not a subject that applies to your bike.
