OEM fuel tank range, 2009 KLX250s
I now have a very accurate vapor speedometer/odometer and have been commuting to work 8 miles each way with about 4 of those miles at 60 mph. I get 55 mpg doing this.
I did a poker run in the mountains on Father's day and made it on one tank. I got home and ran to fuel up and ended up getting 38 mpg on that 50+ miles.
Huge variation on riding style. In any case, the KLX250 is a fuel hog. The real reason to ride it is light weight. I would be getting the same mpg on a klr650 but with way more power.

HB, your first post sounds about right on the money. I never seen much if any change going from stock[with pipe] to the BB carb and then the BB 351. Get the IMS 3.03 gal tank[that's what mine holds
] and go for it.
