To say "Hi"!

I just bought an '07 KLX 250 with 5.5k miles on her. Decent condition. Mild mods already done (pipe, jet, airbox, sprocket), otherwise stock. Goes awesome! Not too concerned about the amount of HP output, as I think it's more than sufficient for me to build my confidence on the dirt.

My last bike was an '07 KLR, and man, was that thing too much for me to handle offroad.

Looks like you have the major mods already done. Maybe a fenderectomy might be the next step.

All the model KLX's are great, but I prefer the '06/'07 models. You done good.

Nice bike. You've come to the right place.

Welcome!

Thanks!
Yeah, that tail is quite large. Think I'll hack it off and fab something up. Maybe poke around a bit and see what others have done.

Other than that, I think I'd like to maybe get a Pelican mounted to the back rack. Nothing serious, just enough for a first aid kit, water, few tools, can of Fix a flat, other misc...

There are several well made bicycle rack bags that work really well on the stock rear rack...and they're much softer than a hard case when you smack against it while riding off road.

Soft makes a lot more sense. Who are the good compact ones? Waterproof would be awesome

There are so many you can't keep count, and they come in every dimension than you can desire. As to waterproofing, you're best off just getting a rain cover. Full waterproof bags are often obscenely expensive. Get the bag you want and find a rain cover off of something else.

I'll vote for a soft bag also, when running with just the bare rack, I fasten mechanical duct insulation over the top of it. When the back end bucks up, it bites.
