The higher the octane, the harder it is to get the fuel to ignite... so, why exactly are you wanting to make your fuel harder to ignite??? If the engine isn't pinging, there's no need to increase octane... Besides, most pinging can be corrected by adjusting the timing correctly.

I am about to rejet the carb and did know if I needed higher octane fuel for the bike to run better? Use to run race fuel in my 2 stroke KX 250 and the bike ran like a screaming ape in every gear! Just looking into every option for cheap performance mods...

If you don't need it, it's a total waste of money.
