That is why I want one - they were so far ahead of their time.. a fuel injected, electric start, lightweight, big bore bike. Years ago I researched them - owners were trying to unload them cheap - at that time, it seemed too troublesome to me to try to keep one in a running, rideable, but mostly on display, condition... Hell, a relative knocked over the KX500 last Thanksgiving and the right side cover cracked ! A few years ago (another Thanksgiving party at the ranch) I got the 98 FC501 going for another relative to take a short ride on,, it came back 10 minutes later with almost no compression ! A Cannondale has so many "quirks" that they shouldn't be considered as a primary ride...

That is why they folded. To bad they had something going for them. Now Yamaha has taken thier idiea, reverse head, intake in the front, exhaust in the rear. The Cannondale had the airfilter mounted behind the headlight/numberplate.
