Hello, I just signed up after reading through this forum the past couple of weeks. The threads on here helped me decide to pick up an '06 KLX250S which I took home yesterday. Basically, I haven't ridden in seven years and wanted a cheap, fun bike that I could ride around and see if I still enjoy riding. If all goes well and I get a lot of use out of this bike, I'll upgrade or add an additional bike next year.

My riding background includes lots of dirtbikes, starting with a 50cc minibike that my dad brought home in the trunk of his Buick LeSabre in the early '80's. I still remember him opening the trunk and pulling that bike out. He got it for free and it didn't run, but we got it running and it was one of those father/son bonding moments that I'll never forget. I then moved through the motocross bikes (2 stroke 80s, 125s, 250s) and sold my last dirtbike in '01. After selling my last dirtbike I bought a used '97 Katana 750, but wasn't really into that particular bike. I sold it in '02 and haven't owned a bike since, until yesterday.

What I'd really like to do is introduce my sons to dirtbikes when they're old enough. I have one that just turned one and the other will be three in August. I know the local track has a 50cc class for 4-6 year olds, but of course I won't push the boys if they aren't interested.
