At $20 bucks, it ought to be mandatory for anyone using a stock seat.
That's right a Wal-Mart/Sterns special! It helps but after 150 miles
you need to stand up more and more often.

Not much dust. In fact, there were remnants of the big mud hole everyone was talking about last year. Nothing too difficult. It was a ton of fun.

I built a butt saver for the longer trips. The original version had 2 pieces of 1 1/4" pvc pipe in a piece of vinyl, but I later changed that to a protaper crossbar pad which I split in half and added a 3/4" x 3/4" piece of wood to each side which makes it even better. The cover is a Blacksheep seat cover, but the Walmart version works almost as well. By sliding back when my butt gets tired, it changes the weight distribution to give you a rest without stopping..
A friend and I made an 1800 mile trip in 6 days with this and my butt never made me stop for a rest.

More photos of my '250. many mods, but very little money spent on them.
Except for tank bag, panniers, gas tank, hand guards and seat cover, every thing else I built in my shop.

John, that's some nice home-grown work there! What mods did you make to the stock muffler?

I just drilled out the back with a hole saw (using a piece of broom handle for center guide), removed the stock tail pipe and put larger hole in the last baffle. I then used a 1 1/4" flat washer to cover the hole and welded in a 1 1/4" piece of tubing.
It's still not too loud and seems to have a lot less back pressure.
