Nice to find another European on here - with a FI bike. Actually met another Brit today who has a 2009 bike same as mine, first person i have ever met in England with one Advised him to do the clutch switch mod, I was amazed at the difference.
Does the snorkel mod make much differnece on its own or only with a less restrictive exhaust?
Like the White with Black paint ~ standard in Sweden? We get Green or Black at present

I also did the clutch switch mod, after the break-in period, and the change was noticeable.
I actually did the snorkel mod first and could sense a slight improvement, but clearly not as significant as the exhaust mod.
In Sweden we get the white and green version for the KLX. In fact, the KLX250S is not a very common bike here at all. For almost all mods that I have made I have ordered parts from US, UK or Germany.
In general, most people here in the north tend to pretty much ignore just about any street-legal bikes less than 600cc. There are only a handful new bikes out there on the market less than 600cc (except scooters and 125cc). However, with increasing fuel prices, this might change. Just recently, Honda Sweden decided to import the CRF250L, with pretty close engine specs as the KLX250S. Since some years, the Yamaha WR250R has been out there as well.
I like the KLX for it´s multi-purpose competence and agility, hardly found in larger, and heavier, models. It was actually never a race against the WR since the price difference is huge. Sorry for diverting slightly from the topic...
Thanks willb!

That being said I think the honda will own the market now unless it has some reliability issues (which it almost certainly doesn't). It's way cheaper than the KLX and performs far better. And it's WAY cheaper than the WR, looks more modern, and doesn't give up too much performance wise. Only problem is that you can only get it in red, which I hate.
White and Green sounds awesome! Let me know if you ever hear of anyone selling their plastics.
Smaller bikes were pretty rare up till a few years ago. Things just kind of took off and now 250's are all over the place. Which is great, and I hope this streak continues. I want to see more little bikes and less big bikes.
Sorry to say this but the KLX can't really compete with the new Honda, it's better in every way and far cheaper! Performance wise it would be competing with the WR250R, though the Yamaha will still have a fair deal more grunt.

As far as being cheaper that remains to be seen. The MSRP is less than the kawi but around here you can get a KLX for $3500-4500 (paid 3500 for my klx new) plus the used market where the KLX has lots of used bikes out there.
I'm sure the honda is a quality bike, but this late in the game i think they have an uphill battle against kawasaki for the entry level dual-sport market, at least in the US where "little" bikes like these are not very popular.
Time will tell though.

About the plastics what I meant was that we get it in either green or white, sorry for the confusion. Me personally, I am not to sold on the Kawa green that was offered on this model, so therefore I went with white.
I would also definitively like to see more of smaller engines on motorcycles on public roads. With engine power comes aggressiveness (or inspired driving I think they call it in the ad´s...) This is true also for cars I think.
Thanks for the info. So where did you bolt this thing onto the light housing of the KLX to make it stable?
