Default KLX wheelies

I just bought an 06 klx 250 currently it is all stock

I plan on doing the mods everyone talks about the most, drop down to a 13 T cs, muzzy full exhaust, rejet the carb, and high flow snorkel.

first off, any suggestions to my mod plan?

mainly, anyone who has a similar set up. how big of a difference did this make? also how easy is it to pull wheelies.

does it have enough power to pull em on its own without clutching it?

Well since I weigh more than most in here, my thoughts will be on the low end of the scale, the 13 tooth and jetting and after market exhaust will help wheeling immensely. I also have the 45 on the back, so that helps too. 2nd gear wheelies? Um I really can't get it to come up, but I also have the pelican case in the way soI can't slide back as far as is needed. But yes you can get the front end up with little effort after the mods.

After the power mods you might have a "harder" time with wheelies as the D603 doesn't grip that well in the dirt. On pavement it would pull the front up but I chicken out quick on pavement.

You might also consider changing the OEM air filter for an after-market one that breathes easier (e.g.: Uni, Twin-Air, K&N, etc.).

the order you put the mods in is fine. i like the 14/47 that i run but it's up to you. you will need a new chain if you go that way. no matter what you do with the gearing and the mods there will be a very noticeable difference with the performance of the bike over all stock. the front will come up without the clutch but you will still have to work for it. just not as much. good luck lets us know what you think..

Haven't changed the gearing yet, but I do have the full Muzzy, jet kit, airbox mods. I can say the performance is night and day, but unfortunatly this bike is still no power wheelie machine. Will it pull the front tire with no clutch?- Yes but with some good effort on your part, but it still won't take it to the balance point. To get it on the back tire and stay there you will still have to clutch it and you can all but forget it at speeds above 10mph!

Also when you shift to third unless you are right at the balance point the front end will drop, it just doesn't have the low endgrunt to keep it up.
