Default wheelies-how?

I'm a new rider. I have an 03 636. It sounds like a stupid question but I don't know how to do a wheelie. Anyone have any tips?

Welcome to the forums!

I can't help you on how to do wheelies but all I can advise you is not to do it in the streets. Controlled environment away from traffic is the only place these should be done.

Hey not sound like a puss but i would recommend that you just enjoy your bike without the wheelies. Not to say i dont pull a few, but you need to be able to have a real good feel for your bike. Even then one wrong move can end in a diaster. Just ride your bike and enjoy it. The bike has 2 wheels for a reason.

I agree with gotrice on this one.... I bought my bike to ride. Occasionally I'll bring the front tire up a lil bit, but I don't try to get up to the balance point or try to sustain a wheelie. Of my friends that have bikes to ride, thos that share a similar mentality to myself most have clean unlaid bikes. The guys that like to fly the front tire 90% of them have made friends with the pavement doing so.

With that being said, if you do want to venture into "stunting," which wheelies are the most basic of manuevers. Here are want some of my friends who have teams have advised. Save your babie for the riding, spend a lil more cash and get an older bike to "play" on. Ebay is a good place to find one, then find a controlled place to go have some fun (esp important while learning). Also, getting an older bike to play on, also gives you a good bike to get some hands on experience wrenching on your bikes.

Just a couple of thoughts on the subject, take em how ya like...

well said ryninger...I got my bike to ride it for what it was meant to be, a sports bike. If I wanted to spend most of my time on one wheel, I would have bought a unicycle.

How long? 2 months? dude learn the basic stuff on the bike first. Like controlling the bike. For any type of emergency. Then after a good long time on the bike. Then buy yourself a beater. And practice stunting on that. Two months is not long enough time to even think about wheelies. [sm=badidea.gif][sm=bangbang.gif]
