Default Want to make my stock KLX do wheelies better

Just bought a 2012 KLX 2050s and installed a new Two Brothers slip on and installed new jey kit to give it a bit more power and eliminate the terrible sound of Glorified Scooter! But I must do more controlled wheelies.

Does anyone think if a switched out the factory rear sprocket with a larger one that this woild help be sustain better wheelies?

Thanks! Greg

Bigger sprocket would help probably. Best bet would be a big bore kit, more power.

Assuming you don't want to change the rider, yes, a bigger rear sprocket may make it "do wheelies" better. It may also make it much easier to "loop it"...again, most of wheely-ing ability of a given bike is due to the rider.

Exactly. Had some good 3rd gear ones today at 30+ mph.

Thanks all you guys! Yes, I will be looking into the big bore! I have found the sweet spot and can jockey the back brake and throttle and can go for quite a while. I think by doing the new upgrades it will be easier to get the front end up in 2nd and 3rd.

Thanks for all the input. Oh yah, I found out yesterday thats its not legal on the road!! He was a real cool cop though! I literally had no idea! Here in Florida its a $1500 fine for a "wheel up" violation. What a bunch of crap!!

Peace out

I wouldn't think it's legal in any state, but it might be. $1500 seems to be a little excessive to me! Not sure where you live, but there are all kinds of back country roads where I live. That's where I do mine. I'm thinking not legal in Wisconsin either, but we all take our chances.
