Klx Vs pated Dirt Bike
ORIGINAL: 2k1w=no$
Your best bet is to talk to your local dmv and see what kind of process it is to register an offroad bike. Some states are better than others and some are near impossible. If it has already been converted and is currently registered you should not have a problem, but again you should check with the dmv. I would say that 95% of the people on here that own klx's bought them because they could not get an offroad bike registered in there state or it wasn't worth the hassle. +1000 on the e-start, altough a backup kicker would have been nice on our bikes. As far as your first question, the klx in stock form will not stack up to a true offroad bike. It wasn't designed to. If you are willing to put some time and money into the klx it would give most offroad machines a run for there money.

If you are so interested in a used KLX 300 then just get the 250 and get a big bore kit. They are essentially the same bike. Withthe rightmods the 250 could run circles around a stock 300. Now a Yamaha WR 450 is another story! I don't think you could get it plated in most states. You better find out first.
