can you klx people please help. im looking to get a klx 250 but the top speed is not very good , how do I get more top end and acceleration through the gears

 

351, 15 tooth sprocket , dyna jet kit, exhaust, air filter and snorkle removed mine will hit 100mph

But that is at almost red line, 85mph easy at 7000-7500 rpm

 

Looking at the wrong bike to go fast with...

Mr D, how fast do you want to go ? My son and I agree that our klx250s starts to be unstable at 85mph.

 

what is considered "not very good"?...with dj132 jetting, intake and exhaust modifications, you shouldn't have any problems at above freeway speed of 80 to 85 mph cruising...15t/40t (+1/+1) is ideal for sf...so, 15t/43t (or 14t/40t) should be good for s for freeway cruising speeds...
