darn, im doing the hard way by removing cam cap, finally finished the MCM mod, one thing i noticed is the engine become leaned pretty hard, revving engine would hang then drop to idle, and yes, intake noise noticeably reduced, cant wait my piggyback to arrive.

about the cam tensioner, can i remove it, then manually moving 1 teeth forward in stock cct, and then put it back, would it push the stuck cam guide?

Laika - You MUST follow all details and all steps carefully in the Marcelino Cam Timing Mod (MCM) white paper - no shortcuts. A rookie KLX engine mechanic WILL also require a KLX250S Service Manual that details how to properly remove the valve cover, set up and reset the Cam Timing Chain Tensioner, proper bolt torques, etc.

As for the cam chain tensioner, what cam guide is stuck? If you mean the cam chin slider is stuck take care of it don't try to break it loose with cam chain tension, especially if you plan to run it. Chains are not designed to run under actual tight tension, pulling on the cam chain with an overtightened cam chain adjuster will pull the cams and if you break the film of oil that the cams ride on in the head you are looking at cam journal damage to a very expensive head. Fix whatever is stuck then either use the OEM tensioner the way it is meant to be used or get a manual one and adjust it properly. All the tensioner is meant to do is take the slack out of the cam drive and hold the setting. When the OEM tensioner fails it will no longer hold the correct setting, being pushed back in and letting the cam chain run slack. The rattling noise you may hear from the area of the cam drive.

Uh oh, looks like the original photos in the very first post no longer work. Does anybody have them saved?

Yes, click on the link in my signature. I got them before they were taken off the origin site.

If you have Google Drive, which most do and is free, Click on file and make a copy for yourself and share it wherever you may. That way the information may be more likely to survive for others to us.

Just finished the MCM on one of my KLXs, both me and my wife have them. I just have one question that I think I know the answer too, I went through about 700 posts on this thread.

On the 2018/2019 KLX 250 EFI models, do you need to change anything about the fuel mapping to benefit from this mod? What if I have a power commander for fueling?

Thanks for all the information everyone.

The mod makes power without any fueling changes.
The mod makes more power if you richen engine operations from off-idle to 7000 rpm.

Is this true regardless of which exhaust you're running?

Yes. But properly accomplishing this enrichment is somewhat build specific.
