To hold the clutch, a penny between the clutch gear and the primary gear works good.

And then you have to lean to kick start it. Not that easy

looks good...was wondering what all was involved in doin this.

how much did all of the stuff cost? and did you have to add some type of decompression switch, or is it still not that hard to kickstart it?

With the right tecnique it's easy to kickstart

Why wouldnt it be? You might need a new side cover where the starte hits the flywheel, if you take the starter off there would probably bea hole... a klx300 side cover would probably work.

Nope the bike comes with decompression gizmo on the cam shafts......works like a champ and has saved me at least four times in bad situations......ALLMOLES SHOULD HAVE A KICKSTARTER

Good to hear that, FM.

On latermodels of the KLX300, Kawiwent with different timing on the ACR to make thekick starting easier and take some stress off of the idle gear.Itmight be worthlooking for an exhaust cam on ebay or getting with Brewster at Thumpertalk about repositioning your ACR. I don't recall what year the change started but you can see when thePN changed on the KLX300part fich.
