I'm still bumming over the klx's beginner bike qualities,I knew I should have bought the DRZ instead

I think the "beginner" like qualities of the klx are all relative to who is actually riding the d@mn thing.
I've ridden with 2k, divo, quite thumper, and tumbleweed, and they ride the thing like a competition enduro bike. On the last lackawanna ride 2k and divo's friend pete were doing a hill climb that was giving a few sport quads fit's. On the other end of the spectrum is me, and I LOVE the beginner like qualities of my trusty little steed. :-)

 

I do have to say though,I wouldn't mind a DRZsm just to bang around on the street.
