Just some BS.... drz vs.....
Hey guys, now that i have found these other guys on the net to ride with i keep finding more.... there has to be close to a dozen guys now... anyway....... Whats the deal with everyone having DRZ's? Is it because they are cheap used? i think there is 1 wr4265 drz's, 1 ktm 450, 3 dr350's... suzuki really has the market cornered... There is no other bike that you can pick up used for like 2500-3000 with that sized motor.... granted there is the klr250, dr350, but those are older. Does everyone have these cause they are inexpensive and have good power? Just think its kinda weird, and im tired of seein them...lol... Once again, Im glad to be different, i rode the one guys drz.....[:'(] no thanks, it has tons of power, but didnt like it. Im thinking its just because you can pick one up pretty cheap.... make sense? Is there any other bikes that are realitively inexpensive, dual sport wise?
You're right they are really the only larger displacement dual sport thumper in that price range. Also, they were the only show in town for that category for so long that there is a glut of them now.
Now that i really see how the klx250 compares to other DS's the next big upgrade will be suspension not 300cc... the 250 is plenty for now... the guy on the wr426 was very surprised with the klx and how dirty worthy it really was, and what i can do with it. he actually took it for a ride... The one guy that has a dr350 just bought the Versys, let me take it fora ride, 210 miles on it.... NICE BIKE.... that will be my next one.
I'll definately be doing the big bore upgrade first....maybe. I keep hearing about the suspension. From what I read it seems expensive though, and what do you need just fork springs and that rear spring? I think I'd get the guts going first then make it balance. After I'm done all that probably upgrade to a 450 ktm
The DRZ"SM" makes the DRZ that much better. The bike just rocks, that's all you can say about it. It didn't get MOTY runner-up for no reason. It's a great bike with tons of torque and power. With 35 stock rear wheel horsepower and the same exact weight as the KLX stock, it's hard to beat.
I weight 225lbs so im over the weight just a little bit, it goes good for me, just need to dial in the suspension, Im going to just get new springs, you could send the shock and forks out to get revlaved and such, but i dont race, i just want the correct springs and ill be happy. Is there any areas where the klx is better than the drz? Inverted forks? suspension?
I dont want this post going crazy about agruments please.... just some small talk.... ill have it locked or removed, deej is my buddy....

I'm not sure on how the DRZ suspension is (S model) but on www.advrider.com they were well liked and you see many shots of them flying higher than any of the KLX air shots I've seen over here. Albeit the rider never comments on how the landing was.
Cool! It's about time somebody gave the V-strom some competition.
I've held-off on suspension since I only weigh about 150, but this thing could still use stiffer springs up front. If I weighed any more, that would have been the first mod I did.
