Yes i put the correct amount of oil.

Fuel in the crankcase? Dont know how that would happen.
Fuel in the crankcase?...definitely can happen. A stuck float with the petcock open can allow fuel to back into the airbox and then flow into the crankcase vent and into the engine. This could never happen to me, however, as I have never, never, never forgotten to turn off my petcock.

my '09 was leaking from the valve cover as well as the fill cap O ring.
I ordered new both and installed them. i have no more leaks.

On a side note though, i drilled out the crankcase breather in the air box at the same time as doing the gaskets. My thinking was that the big bore kit was pumping more air than factory specs, which factory called for a small restrictor in the breather. Anyway,,,, it couldn't hurt right??
No more leaks!!!!!

It's molded into the airbox at the outlet where the hose from the crankcase attaches to the airbox. You just drill out the hole a bit bigger to get closer to the size of the plastic tube at that spot.

I read that if i drop my bike there is a chance of getting oil from the crankcase into the airbox is it true?

Your bike would have to lay on the ground in a near upside down position for quite some time I would think. With the bike laying flat on the ground, there's still probably enough crankcase and engine cover volume for the oil to stay in the engine. I drilled mine out when I first got the bike. I was marking trail at our last enduro and had walked off down a trail doing some work for about 30 minutes. I had heard my bike fall over when I rounded the first corner but didn't worry about it...soft, sandy dirt and the stand dug in. When I came back, some fuel had dribbled out of the Acerbis tank overflow tube, but that was it.

Performance?...there has been a ton of debate on many KLR650 sites and posts about this and even some dyno tests, but it has been pretty inconclusive. Most have done the mod in hopes of relieving any excess crankcase pressure...the big KLR probably having more of an issue...and there's probably no real negative issue associated with it.
