i would try it with the #132 first and go from there.

i'm at 1,300ft and the #132 was pig rich on my 331 even with the lid off. i went back to the #128.

every bike is a little different.

I assume yall are alluding to there being functional differences between carbs and/or engines. I am unaware to what extent production tolerances would create functional differences. I guess there could also be variances from one DJ #132 jet to another.

i could not tell you the reasons.... all i know is the #132 was too rich for my application.

YMMV

Alright.

Results.

The 132 certainly pulls harder. If I'm in first, at about 4k RPM, I can clutch in and pull her up to about 8k RPM part throttle and it lifts the front wheel effortlessly. Before it only did that under WOT. Still disappointed it does NOT want to power wheelie!! But! It's still too rich. WOT is great, but moving the needle position made it so that cruising at 4k-5k RPM and cracking the throttle produces a stutter.

Should I try putting the pilot in a bit or just adjust the needle back to where it was?

Thanks everyone. I feel like my bike is one step closer to running cooler and better.

Do you have the lid off and the mixture screw set to Stage II specs ? Did you set the needle one notch lower ( on the needle ) than Stage II specs..?

If the FSW header is larger O.D. than stock you will likely loose a little trq below 6k over the stock header.

I had the exact Stage 2 setup on tuning before this. Then I went to the 132 and set clip one position lower (richer, raised needle). Then, yesterday, I put my needle back at the Stage 2 settings and it's runs very smooth, stutter gone and still pulls harder up top but really lacks that bottom end punch to get the front wheel off... I mean I followed what you did in your video to the T, but the front wheel will not come up without clutching up...

Ok, gotcha.. Remember that I can't help you if your running a lid or a snorkel - I simply have no data for that configuration. If you have the lid off, your current set up would range 14-15 to 1 AFR with a stock header + aftermarket slip on. Your exhaust system will alter that AFR somewhat. If you analyze my chart on the FMF vs ... thread you'll see that the FMF caused the bike to go richer and I do not know why.. Also see that below 6500 RPM TRQ and HP are down while using the FMF system.... So, while my bike wheelies with ease using the stock header with DG-R - as seen in my video, it does not wheelie with the same authority on the FMF system.
But most importantly for wheelies, I'm 6'1" and 220 lbs. My 17 yr old son has trouble getting it to wheelie @ 5'10" and 145 lbs. That is the dirty little wheelie secret.
