So the 86' 600 ninja I rebuilt works just fine except for one small detail... I've got water shoooting out both sides of the bike via a small breather hole in the head in between the cooling fins. I did everything correct. Head gasket? everything sealed, and theres only one way to put those gaskets on- the side that says this side up! Water pump seems smooth. And oil doesn't seem to have mixed. Plz advise: Any ideas would be helpf.

Isaac, give us some pics. We can probably look on a diagram or find a link for you.

 

those holes you are talking about isaac are drain holes for the spark pulg well. they are for like when it rains or take a hose to it the spark plug wells don't fill with water. should be no water shooting out., of anywhere! check the top hoses and see if their tight.

YOu weere completly right about strong arming those hoes lol thanx again! wish I could bestow upon you the true-est blessing you deserve-or even lunch on me, if your within distance... Got one more prob -idle wont hold...haven't adjusted the carbs on this rebuild. still I have to plug them with rags to get it to start pretty much. i think I barely got it started once or twice today without them while the bike was still warm. theres a slight exaust leak nothing major. i have to get a new bracket for one of the pipes. Bikes staged all the **** blowing out white smoke all over hahhahahah

ps. only diff is the 1/2 mm overbore +pistons and rings...Do you think valve clearenceshould be changed or double check my specs with head shop that reassembled it? Just a few more thoughts b4 I go. peace
