Does any one have the Shoei hornet DS helmet? If so how to you like it?

I have a simpson helmet.....

almost looks like a paintball mask!

 

I have one in silver. I've only worn it a few times but so far its been great.

 

I like the look of the sheild on the dirt-bike helmets, BUT does the shield go up high enuf to allow you to see? I mean if you stop for a second to talk to someone,does it obstruct your vision?

 

I'm not sure about the Simpson or Arai dual sport helmets, but on my Shoei Hornet the face shield flips almost completely underneath the visor. It dosn't obstruct your vision at all. I can just berely see the bottom edge of the shield in my peripheral vision when it's flipped completely up.You can easily wear goggles when it's up. Plus it's removable if you didn't want it on at all.

 

EMS I like the looks of the Simpson.....but damn $139 for the helmet and another $100 for the faceshield....is that what you paid.

 

Yea, was a cheaper alternative to the arai xd...
