Default Head Shake

While riding the bike the other day I thought the front tire was low, so I checked it and it was reading 18psi . I have never touched the pressure since i bought the bike. I raised the pressure up to 28psi and on the ride home from work on the highway I had a bad head shake at 70-80mph. What should the tire pressure be? Is there anything else that could have caused this

Book says 21psi. This sucks to do, but works well. Take the head set apart, grease the bearings with marine grade grease. When you put it back together, tighten it enough that you have noticable resistance(turning right and left), while the front wheel is off the ground.

If the shakes continue, lean back a bit, relax your wrists, and tuck your elbow in to your sides.

That high speed (for a KLX) head shake is part of owning a KLX250. You can induce it by just geting in that speed range and making semi-sharp L/R seering inputs. Be very smooth gradually applying force going into and out of turns and try to keep your arms relaxed with elbows in.

This bike will absolutely force you to ride correctly at those speeds.Checkthe things people areadvising you tocheck, but you willnever get rid of that head shake.I used to get it quite often whenI snapped ituprightquickly after exiting a corner, ala sport bike....now that I started 'carving' more instead of 'chopping' with the KLX, I hardly every get the shake.

That is one of the better SNL crews acts. I have a clip of the music for my ringer on my cell phone. Glad you liked it.
