Nice job
I just fitted Bark Busters to my 07 stock bars.
Were the ends of the bars pluged with a steel tube insert welded to the bar?
I had to remove this to fit the ends in.

yes.....What a PAIN IN THE ***.........why would they do that??? like what is that plug for?
I used a reamer bit and chewed the welds away until I could use a punch tp push them in the bars....I would rather do the jet kit than put the guards on!

They're not plugs they are weights to reduce handlebar vibration.
Who needs them anyway.
Upgrade to some Renthals, you know you want to.[8D]

I believe a couple of members on here even drilled and tapped those inserts and didn't bother trying to remove them...in hindsight, this would have saved me a tonne of time and frustration had I known that when i installed my handguards.
ProTaper bars are pretty cheap and saved me a tonof hassles with the Acerbis Ralley Pro's. I also can stand on the foot pegs now in a natural stance.
After reading this, im really going to wait for a rainy day to put my Acerbis Rally Pros on!!!! Hey Sid, you have any pics of your pros installed? Just wanted some ideas on where everything should fit, and a bit of incentive to buckle down and install them instead of using the time for riding...
Cheers!
Cheers!
