Front end shake on newly purchased zx9
This bike was downed some time ago- all cosmetics were replaced and repainted but it retained some mechanical issues. I'm guessing the front rim is bent- it shakes at all speeds(above crawling) and doesn't get much smoother with excessive speed. Brakes great, forks don't appear to be damaged- they look straight and not bent. the rear tire is toast and I'm sure the fronts been on there for a while. Just looking for possibles as to what could be causing such an excessive shake. A friend said it could be tire pressure or even un balanced. Just not looking to take the front end apart multiple times playing a big cat and mouse game. What do you guys think?
Well, front tire could have a small seperation. air pressure, bent wheel, warped rotors, air pressure off, wheel bearing going bad, out of balance....
It's a whole list of things unfortunately.... If your tires about toast anyway, pull the front wheel off and get a new tire...when they install the tire, they will balance it, and they will notice if you have a bent wheel. While it's apart, you can check the wheel bearings.. I bet that will solve the problem... Do you have a pic you can load of the front end, including the front tire?
