Default RE: Got some mud on it

I'm running 13:52 right now.

I originally thought I might like 14:52 or 13:52 so I bought two front sprockets, the 13 and the 14. I went to try 14:52 first but the stock chain is just a tad too short so I had to fall back to 13:52. I think 13:52 is OK, but a bit low for the road. So tonight I ordered a 49 tooth rear and I will try 14:49 when it comes in. I wanted the 50 tooth but it was out of stock, so I got the 49. So after that, I'll either be running 13:49 or 14:49 whichever feels better.

BTW, while 13:52 sounds like it is geared really low, that just puts the KTM's 1st gear speed and 6th gear speed as they relate to engine RPMs very close of the KLX250S's with the stock 14:42. So even with 13:52 it is geared higher than what most folks here like on the KLX. But with the higher torque, it seems like the lower gearing is not necessary - it lugs along just fine in low gears without konking out and I kind've like being able to cruise at 60 with low RPMs, just rumbling along.

That was Harris Nuclear plant in the background, near Apex. Finding good riding around here is a challenge. That's one of the reasons street legal is a must for me - to get a good full day of riding, I need to connect several areas by public roads.

i think i've seen that smoke stack several of times before, while going toward raleigh, from old us 1. i would have never thought about someone riding around there - i'd imagine it's fun!

Yep, that's it, as long as they are not logging in the area. I'm not sure it's strictly legal or "approved" but I've seen others ride there on dirt bikes and quads and they all say its OK. There's some OK riding there. Pretty typical of the stuff around here. If you know of other areas nearby, let me know - I need some new places to ride.
