Default Garmin 60csx

Rather than jack the gps mounting thread, anyone got feedback on this unit. I dump way too much for those large screenfragile lookinggps's and am looking for durability and portability (is that a word?) first and foremost in a gps. Thanks gang.Oh, fyi I have no prior experience with gps.

I've had a 60csx for a little over a year now and am very pleased with it. I don't have it mounted on my bike, so i can't attest to it's durability other than the normal wear and tear of using it while hiking or off roading in my jeep. Accuracy, maps and ease of use are all top notch. It does very well on road and will give turn by turn directions with the right maps. Biggest drawback is that the maps are expensive from Garmin. Hope this helps.

I've got that unit mounted to my bars... RAM mount, good n sturdy, the unit has been dropped and covered in mud on several occassions, then hosed off.

I'm happy with it. The ZUMO and other "driving" GPS's have different feature sets than the handhelds.
It's good to research and understand the fundamental diffs when buying.
The 60csx can store up to 16 tracks and most driving GPS's don't do that.

I’ve had my 60csx for about a month now and love it for tracking my routes. the base map suck so you will have to spend about $100 on map software.

I've had that gps for about 3 months with multiple unexpected get-offs, It's a very sturdy unit.
Ram mount and hard wired to the bike for power. I researched them for a couple of months before
I decided on the 60csx for the feature set and durability. I use the lanyard to lash it to the bike
because I've found mutiple complaints about the ram mount failing on a very hard hit or get-offs.
Hate to leave it behind if I didn't notice it missing.

I use the older Garmin GPSMap 60cs, but it does what I want it to do. It nice to have on the trails. I just use the Garmin bike handle bar holder to hold it in place. And for those extra precations, I strap the strap around the middle bar. Only conplaint, make sure the batteries are in good condition if you use rechargables. Everything else, not a problem.

Where is the ignition?
See that black toggle switch to the left of the GPS?
That's it.
