That's the only problem with those aftermarket mufflers... sound. I wanted to get one and still might but noise is a foctor. There's not a whole lot of places in my 'neck of the woods' to ride without people getting pissed off. I installed a Hush Puppy exhaust on my old 1984 KDX200 and still had problems with people. On one occasion a guy got violent with me on the trail I used to ride as a kid. The quieter the better. The stock KLX250S muffler may suck but it can keep you in stealth mode. Everything is a trade off. Something to consider...

Where I live there is not a lot of trouble with noise on the road, or the woods if you go to the woods. I just do not like really loud motorcycles.

My full FMF system actually sounds quiet but havn't heard a muzzy or BG as nobody around here seems to have klx's. So whats wrong with the FMF system IG,is it price or do you know something I don't about them? Do they make less power than the BG and Muzzy? Just wondering

It's no big deal. You ought to know by now how subjective MK is about pipes. When he owned the BG, it was the best to be had. Now that he owns the Muzzy, which he bagged on unmercifully before he owned one, it's suddenly the second best to be had.

Heaven forbid that you can have a muffler that can keep the noise down AND give you improved performance.

I will receive mine this week (09 version) with silencer cone, it will be interesting to see what it looks like. Hope it is not too loud for the neighours...

So the muzzy got here, I opened it up and sure enough it is the humungous one. dealer was ****ting me. I guess the 2009 muzzy will now be called The Great Humungous.

I phoned muzzy tech support today to find out why the 09 can is so much bigger than the 300 can.
they told me that the new pipe is a completely new design the larger can is to decrease noise level by about 2 decibels, which is quite considerable.
The 300 pipe was never designed for the 300, it just happened to fit the 06,07 250.
so, I will keep the Great Humungous and have a bit quieter exhaust, and just get used to the larger can.

Can we get a quick photo? Tons of people are curious here, I'm sure.
