Easy Chain Lube (90 Weight users)
I have found a great way to lube your chain If you like using 90 weight. I use a small pump style oiler and a foam paint brush. Just pump the 90w right onto the brush and brush it on. Works like a charm and allows you to get at every surface. I like to get the "inside" real well so centrifugal force pushes the oil into the chain.
Unfortunately, the red clay dust here in NC sticks to everything. I just wipe it down real good with a clean cloth before I lube it. If it's real dirty, I'll blast it with the hose.
Also found these articles on cleaning and lubricating your chain - give it a spin.

Maybe some advice for some of you cleaning and lubing your chain on the bike is that I use a paint roller tray and a box to put under the rear chainwheel to catch the cleaner or dripped lube.
It only takes a very tiny amount of oil. Just use a tiny drop on each o-ring and and even smaller drop on each roller. Oiling the sides of the chain doesn't do anything but attract dirt - you only need to oil the parts that touch other parts. And oiled sparingly like this you will find no sling.
That DuPont Teflon spray lube is awesome. Ive used it for a while on non-dirt oriented bikes and have had good results. It completely dries and wont attract dirt.
Hey Gerrynolan...........Im just a little east of you in Guilford Co. When I get some freetime, maybe you can show me some good trails in Mayberry!
