Dynojet Kit for 2007 KLX250
MattC - Either kit will work just fine with your current setup. However, when you go for max power levels by running the airbox lidless + a proper carb setup (for lidless running) things change. I believe the 2206 kit can give the best performance with the various mod combos we run on our KLX's. If you choose the 2206 kit, DO NOT drill your slide. If you choose the 2152 kit, DO NOT use the kits' slide spring. Both should only be used/drilled only when the MCM has been performed.
I/we will be happy to recommend the proper setup with either kit you choose.

DonA, don't remove the airbox lid until you have a performance slipon or full performance exhaust system.
The #38 pilot should not be necessary at your altitude. Fuel screw should be set to 3 turns out. Install your choice of DJ kit (2206 or 2152) using the instructions for stage 1.
Down the road - either kit can be setup for whatever mod combo you decide to run. I believe the 2206 kit can better fuel most mod combos while the 2152 will possibly better fuel combos that include the MCM..
If your a aspiring tuner, the DNO352 needle in the 2206 kit carries larger Dia.'s throughout most of its' length compared to the DN0228 needle in the 2152 kit. So DN0352 can better control low/mid AFR when using large main jets..

MattC, I guess you've bought a used '07.. So there is no telling how the carb is presently set up. You can take it apart and use our knowledge (researching in the forum) to identify and determine your current carb setup.. It may be that you already have a DJ kit in it.
Anyway, without knowing how your carb is presently set up, I can't say what you may get with a 2206 install.

DonA : You can pull the snorkel - You'll understand more after reading the Kit instructions. BTW, for now, you should follow the instructions "to the letter" with the 2152 kit. In the event that you get the 2206 kit, follow the instructions but don't drill your slide.
BTW, I'm quite sure "they" are going to send you a 2152 kit - so here is the PDF Instruction sheet for it - to give you a "head start" on preparing for the install - http://www.dynojet.com/pdf/2152.pdf

DonA, at your altitudes, it is strictly optional. The pilot jet and its' fuel screw controls idle, deceleration, and transition to needle ops when accelerating.. Low speed throttle response can also be tuned/affected. If you like the idea of having "total control" over those areas of operation, and want to spend time "tweaking" the fuel screw, get the #38..
Your choice..
