DG vs FMF Exhaust Upgrade
Hey everyone, I currently have a 2009 KLX 250s and I am looking to upgrade the exhaust. I am torn between the DG and the FMF slip on. Can someone tell me what sets these apart or which one is a better value? Thanks!
Being totally new to motorbikes, I don't know if the FMF Q4 I have is a slip on, or not. I think it is, but whatever...
my cautionary tale is this... check fitment of whatever you get against the KLX250s airbox. Mine arrived from the previous owner with a large hole melted in it from the tight fit right up against the muffler.
Also, the right rear turn signal is significantly blackened by it's proximity to the FMF's exhale. Others have had this problem, as well.

Yes, the FMF slipons, and some others, can melt your turn signal. This is an unforgivable failure of design that we must live with. Once my bike was fueled correctly, the turn signal melting stopped. Proper AFR lowers exhaust gas temps.
Melting the airbox is faulty installation and/or failure to tweak the clearance during install.

A slipon only won’t improve performance. The benefit is it’s lightweight. Your exhaust performance gains are with the header pipe. FYI incase your looking for extra hp.
