Default D606 Folks...question for you !

Installed my front D606 today, along with heavy duty Maxxis tubes and rim locks. At 60mph on hard surface, don't really notice any balance issues. Since I rarely run over 45 and run 90%+ trail/gravel, I'm obviously THRILLED !!!

The front says 36 psi max, quite a difference from the D603s 22 psi. Is that where you all run them? In soft stuff should I run them at a lower pressure or are they such an improvement over the 603s in the soft stuff that I'll be happy at 36 psi?

I don't have 606's, but I would imagine you should go by the sticker on the bike (22 psi). My truck tires have a max psi of 35 or 40, but the manual says 29. I've always gone by what the manufacturer of the vehicel recommends, since the tires can be used on cars/trucks/bikes of different weights and designs...

In the soft stuff I run the front tire about 12 pounds. Thats what I ran on the stock tire and also on the parelli M21s I change to. Less pressure gives a wider print and is less twichy if you know what i mean. It feels a little mushy on the pavement but not bad.

I forgot to mention that I keep 22 psi in mine, but I air down to around 13 for the trails. Helps with hill climbs big time. I keep a small pump in my pack and fill it back up before heading home on the highway.

I keep my D606's at 22 front and 25 rear on the street, and for the type of off roading I do(semi soft sand), I drop the front down to 12 psi and the back down to 15 psi. (I have heavy duty tubes and rim/bead locks)

I also have no noticable wobble at 55-60 mph (probably 45 real speed based on what I've read on other postings...)

Hope that helps...

I have an mt 21 on the front and run it at 21psi, D606 on the rear at 18psi. I lower that depending on the terrain. I dont have rim locks yet.

Wow, guys, I'll have to say I'm surprised at the answers. I figured it would be mixed but that doesn't seem to be the case. I was leary of staying with the stock pressure since the size of the tire is a hair different, didn't know if that was an important factor. I guess I'll have to bring a nice supply of C02 bottles and play with it some, but I'll start at 22.

Sounds like my Jeep. Stock tires said 35 psiand that worked for them. My 35s run and wear best at 26-28, though the tire says 35 max. And offroad, 7-8 psi ! Talk about tank treads.
Thanks again to all, you are a wealth of info.
