Default Chain help

14 48 gearing. How long will the chain be. How many links. Thanks. About to buy . Please help.

i just put a chain on 14-46 and it was 111 links. Buy 116 and cut to fit.

The chain is riveted. Grind off the end of one and it pops apart. I got 114 links and cut 3 off.

I suggest you get the longer chain and cut it back. Mine had 4 extra links over stock for a 49 rear (13/14/15 front), and now 2 extra over stock for a 45 rear and works with 13/14/15 counter sprockets.

Pogi, they kinda fit together like a two-prong sandwich. There are two "pegs" that go through the smaller inside links. The ends of the pegs will "stick through" the outer plate on the other side. Like EMS says^, take a Dremel or a grinder, or even a healthy flat file, and grind off the rounded ends of the pegs until you get flush with the plate. You'll need to take a flat blade screwdriver or some kind of tool to "pop off" the side plate. The "two prong" link will slide out the other side. Cut to fit. Let us know if you have questions.

Thank you guys. I bit the bullet and took a gamble. Bought the 48t and 110 link o ring chain. Placed back the 14t. It's perfect. Now I may hold off the carb rejet for a while .I don't know how to do it lol. Rides better. Will test on the trail later. Thanks all.
P.s. I just realized our bike comes with o ring chains from factory.

I really enjoyed the 49 tooth rear sprocket. A lot of guys here poo-pood me saying that was too low. But for slow tight trails and hill climbing it was just the ticket. Not so great for the highway. I think you'll like it, and now that you mention it I think the 110 link is what I used.
