2012 KLX 250 cushion front brake?

2012 KLX 250s
I noticed a circular pad/ rubber cushion in-between my front brake disc and spokes. Curios as to it's function?----Anti-Vibration?

the klx250 has a semi-floating front disc. the rubber cushion is a damper to prevent brake squeal caused by harmonics

My huskys have rear floating discs. In comparison the 09 klxs front & rear seem to be solidly mounted? Am I seeing incorrectly?
