Yes that's funny right there. Not nearly as funny as the original though. Brits do comedy.

The advantage of the TPS is to bump up the timing when giving more throttle. But this can easily be done away with an aftermarket CDI that already has more degrees of timing. But with the TPS, the timing can be lowered some to allow lower octane fuel to be used with out knocking when cruising.

Bro a TPS on our klx w/cvk is a an oxymoron....the sensor does not read throttle position....it reads the slide which is vacuum assisted unlike a fcr where the slide goes where the throttle is.....so if anything a fcr would want a tps.

Octane fuel level is not an issue on our klx....unless you are running 83

I answered the question with a question. Do you have the connector coming off the left side of the carb as you look down at it from the seat? If so, you have a TPS on there.

I checked the kawasaki parts diagram. The 09' uses a different CDI and does not list or show a throttle position sensor. so I would say NO... the the 09' does not.

I have had mind unplug (since installing a tm36-68)for over 5000 km on my 07' noticed no difference.

That is incorrect. Where do you get that from? Kawi's TPS on this bike has nothing to do with low or high octane fuels.

The TPS only has a transient input to the CDI. Think of it as an 'anticipator' circuit that momentarily advances the timing when you accelerate...and it does so with very little authority or effect. RPM is the only steady signal to the CDI that has any real value or authority.

Naw, its reads the butterfly position. It basically sends a rate of movement signal to the CDI for a momentary increase in timing...but that's not enough to amount to '***** on a bore hog'

Same thing, just worded differently. Just like some ignition systems have vaccum advance or electriconic through means of a TPS. CPS (Crank Positoning Sensor) is the most important for base timing. The effect is to advance the spark to get more power out of the fuel for a short amount of time.

As for the 09' KLX. I think Kawi did not install one for the 09's.
