Building a wee Beastie
So I have my SF modified to point where I'm quite happy with it (for now) and I have done a couple of things a bit differently so I figured I'd start a thread.
Before I get to the SF I figured I'd show a few of the bikes I have played with in the last few years before buying the little KLX.
First was the Kymco Super 9 2-stroke. Had a 70cc kit custom ported by me, pipe, big carb, worked transmission etc. More than doubled the factory HP on that one

Traded that for a 250 "china Bike" when they first started becoming available. I changed almost every component on it but was never happy with it so I sold it to a young lad who I saw riding it lots.

Decided I wanted a faster bike, hate fully faired sport bikes so I was going to build a streetfighter. Bought a Kawi ZX6-D, great engine and a nice bike but electrical gremlins eventually led me to give it to a mate so he could rebuild it for his wife.

I then bought a Honda CBR nice a reliable but kinda boring. Did much work to it, hot-roded engine and suspension and the full streetfighter treatment.

After I destroyed my knee and had reconstructive surgery I needed something lighter and more upright than the crotch rocket. Always wanted a supermotard so the KLX250sf seemed like the natural choice (almost bought a wr250x but it was $2000 more).
Found a nice example with a Two Bro's slipon and a set of fatbars already fitted and set about modifying it to it's current state.

In addition to the TwoBro's slipon
I have de-smoged and rejetted using oe Kawi stuff
#152 kehin main (part No: 92063-1331)
N1-tc on 2nd notch
#40 pilot
instead of doing the MCM (it's an SF so top end power is good) I have installed the Paray CDI and am running the stock Australian timing advance: 35 ⁰ @5000 rpm. I have also mad a simple aluminum blockoff plate that mounts to the top of the airbox and, at least to my ear, it eliminated the annoying intake noise.
I also modified the cvk linkage to reduce the amount of twist

I have added a few CC's of oil to the forks to increase bottom out resistance and in the rear I'm running a set of custom 114mm linkage plates that lift about 1"
And finally a set of supermoto compound Avon Distanzia's in 120/70R17 and 150/60/R17 were just spooned on yesterday.
I live on a small island with 100's of miles of logging roads and also use the bike on the hwy when I go to the mainland. As it's setup now it's pretty much perfect for this mix of riding. I may do the 300cc upgrade over the winter (unless the CAN-US exchange rate improves then I'll do the 351 kit) and will probably get the suspension redone at some point.
Will have to try and borrow a GoPro one day, some really fun roads to ride here and nobody around to bother me.

Really nice intro Rage,
If the Two Bro's has a large dia. midpipe that required removing the stock seal in the header, it will work with a Megabomb/Powerbomb.. Add a Megabomb, K158 and go top notch on the N1TC for a very noticeable power boost from where you are now..

My grandfather had a friend that lived in Powell River. We went there several times over the course of my child hood. What a beautiful place up there. That must be a wonderful place to ride.
Its a really fun place to ride and a beautiful part of the world. I ride lots of single track and logging roads and, in the dry at least, the Distanzia's have been doing very well. Im going to try changing my ignition map to match the 300's soon, hoping it will like the extra advance
