Maybe some of you guys should stick with the stock tank. It's smooth and shiny and you can keep it all waxed and purty!

It just doesnt seem durable from the pics. I need a tank either way so maybe time to just go for the plunge.

Gary, you'll be on the side of the trail in Arkansas pouring gas from your "Jato" bottles as I roost past with my Clarke tank and you'll wish you had one too! Admit it. You know deep down inside that you really want one, don't you? But alas. I will turn around, ride humbly back to where you sit and help you get going again. Just so I can tell everybody...

Can't wait for the Hillbilly Dual Sport Tour in March!

Damn you Bill!!!![:@]

Last night after you posted this, I was sleeping and I had this recurring dream. I was in Arkansas and I must have ran out of gas 20 times! I'd pull over and pour one of my bottles in the tank and go a little further, then run out again. Every time that I pulled over you came speeding my me with a big wave and a smile.
When I woke up this morning I vowed that I'd let you pass me once but not 20 times!!!!!!
So consequently, I just finished ordering my new Clarke tank with black "ventless" anodized cap.

So there!!!! See you at the gas pump!!

Oh MAN! you're killing me, Gary. Somebody please send this to Clarke so they'll know how much they are appreciated. More than that, let them know what a powerful forum you guys have put together.

Ok. Here's what we do, since nowwe have the same "potential" range. Now we can do a carb and jetting test. We both fill up and ride until one of us runs out of gas. (We'll keep a KLR guy nearby as a tanker in case this doesn't work). The guy whose bike still works tows the other one to the pump. We get lots of photos and post them here so the loser gets ridiculed.

I wish I knew who made it but My old Mx360 had a large Grey Baja tank on it that was near perfect. It was back in the '70's. It was definitelt plastic and held like 3 gallons. It never leaked or cracked and it had a beautiful finish on it. Why can't Clark do a decent job with 30+ years of a proven technology to work with. After reading some of the post's, I'll never spend my hard earned cash on Clark tank.
