ok, well looks like he had the wrong bolt in the wrong hole. took a good look and he had the long bolt in a short hole and vice versa and had used a heli coil..

anyways.. got it fired up!! missing one rubber gasket on the valve cover... found out after firing it up sounded like an exhaust leak.. put finger over hole found it leaking... cant find rubber washer...

Awesome!

I would just take it out and ride it trying to vary the rpm as much as possible. Also getting on and off the throttle pretty hard to load/unload the rings wouldn't hurt either.

Everyone has their own opinion on this question though...

Personally i was out doing wheelies with under 5 miles on my big bore install.

You are not breaking in the motor, you are only seating the rings.
To do that correctly ride it like you stole it for the first 5 minutes at least.
Do not start it up and let it sit there idling away thinking you are doing good.
That does more harm than good. Like Wildcard said,, load and unload the motor so the rings seat properly.

Yes, and then my top end blew up. Holed out the piston into the crank case, shattered the valves and cylinder head, and cracked the cylinder sleeve. Chances are, you are just hearing something else.

you might be hearing the carb slide or butterfly.
Use a stethascope and listen to the top end, exhaust and intake to track down what you are hearing. harbor freight has them cheap.
Buy a 15 t front, you dont need to change the chain length and will be the same as going down 3 in the back.

I had a bit of a knock , but more when the bike was cold.
