So I put on a 47 tooth sprocket and a new x-ring chain yesterday. Lots of low-end now, but after shifting into 2ng gear and reaching 6000 rpm, the bike slips into neutral- no klunk noise or anything- it just slips into neutral. All other gears are fine though. Clutch grabs nicely too. Any ideas???? thanks.

 

Yeah that i kinda a KLX thing on this bike. i have the 300r the same bike just bigger piston. you need to go to www.fourstrokeworks.com and look around there and you should find something like a shift star fear and that helps the problem. you just go to make sure that it is in gear. Good Luck.

Make sure you tell Jerry this is for a KLX250S. Another member here, Kawi Wawi I think, ordered the shift star and while it worked mechanically, the neutral indicator is in a different position, or something like that.

 

You should read through these two... I have done the shift star mod - ended up modding my own star gear.
