Hows the sound of the quiet core vs. the vortex insert, im gonna get the quiet core over winter... is it a bit louder than the vortex?
Yeah, it's a little bit louder, but I think it bothers me more than it bothers my neighbors.

I found the Race Core to be obnoxiously loud (just my opinion), and quickly put the Vortex Insert back in after 1 very short ride. This was before I had the Quiet Core.

I wasplaying around with a BG Quiet Tip (photo below) andfound something very interesting about the BG anodized tip --when I has swapping parts in and out, I didn't bother screwing the anodized tip in place, I just held whatever in place by hand. The anodized tip actuallyINCREASES a certain noise frequency ... not sure how/why, but itwas a noticable effect. Anyway, I have the Quiet Core with a modified Quiet Tip to lower the sound level a tad. It's not much. but it helps.
