Default Bad Influence

I had no intentions of adding any performace mods until reviewing this forum. At this point I am interested in opening up the exhaust system. I read that some of the aftermarket exhausts interfere with the operation of the passenger footpeg. Does anyone know if there is one that does not interfere?

Thanks in advance...

Iowaguy insert BG plug here....LOL just messing with ya buddy, its all good. To be honest if I just found this forum and read all the exhaust threads and posts I would be ordering a BG too. But I'm still happy with what I got.

I have a Big Gun Evo X, and there's no interference at all with the passenger peg.

And although I don't have a Muzzy exhaust (so it may be questionable as to which body orifice I'm talking out of), I've read where some people have filed down the passenger peg slightly so that its still fully functional. Other people have written that they've removed the peg entirely and bolt it back on in under 2 minutes for the few occasions that they need it. (And don't let anybody fool you about the weight saving advantages ... they probably keep the peg in their pocket/toolkit!)

My advice is that the passenger peg might not be as important an issue as some other aspects (e.g. overall construction materials & quality, maintenance, customer support, cost, availability, fit, etc.) -- but that's something you have to decide for yourself. Together with the replies you get in this thread, read through a bunch of other threads (exhaust systems are a very "popular" topic around here), and decide what's important to you, and based on that, which product best suits your needs.

I think its safe to say that you'll probably be pleased with whatever exhaust system you put on your bike, so there's no blatantly wrong choice. (Having stood on the soap box and made such a public statement, Mike patiently waits for the barrage of rotten vegetables ... )

As always, thought, the bottom line about advice is this:

If you can tell the difference between good advice and bad advice, you probably don't need any advice.

Good luck!

Mike

Deej!!!!! Your seeing the light and defecting!! how cool.....LOL LOL LOL

It's all good man, ANY and I sincerely mean ANY exhaust system that lets more exhaust out faster then the stock part is a great improvement. the rest is personal preference based on looks, durability and maintenance....

Best of luck to you DC45OO!!!!

Welcome to the KLX 250 forum....

The BG system won't interfere with the passenger peg, but either way it's no big deal. All it takes is removing the passenger peg and grinding off just a teenie weenie bit of metal with a bench grinder. Put'er back on after that and you will have no issues.
