Bad salesman, bad!
If you live in Oregon and are looking for a Kawasaki dealer, DO NOT BUY FROM FACTORY MOTOR SPORTS in Oregon City. My hubby called and spoke to a salesman who we'll call, "Jason"...well actually his name is really Jason so...there you have it. He told my hubby that not only is the 08 Ninja 250R 30lbs heavier and has less HP (they supposedly did some research...according to Jason)but he also said he didn't justify spending and extra $1k for looks and tried to sell us an 07. He had nothing positive to say about the 08. Forgetting that my hubby called him, I gave him a jingle today and he fed me the same lines. Not that there is anything wrong with the 07 but the fact of the matter is, we called all over looking for an 08 and to have a salesman try to talk us into a different bike, thatthey are probably havinga hard timeselling,is just ridiculous. I'm sorry but if you want to make money and you want to draw in business to your shop, don't talk crap about your inventory and try to convince customers to buy something they don't want. I'm a chick...it's my first bike...and I'm pretty little. A 250 is just my size and the 08's are gorgeous. The fact that it may be heavier and has less HP isn't a problem for me. Again, this is my first bike. So if there are any salesman out there reading this...keep in mind...a lot of business comes from word of mouth and to Jason at Factory Motor Sports...shame on you! I've told all my friends how crappy of a salesman you are. [:@] So far, my best experience has been with Cycle Sports of Salem and Pro Caliber in Vancouver, WA. They actually want my business and I would be happy to give it to them.
Can't fault a salesman for trying to sell I guess, but if he can't cut the crap and get you the ride you want, Then I say forget you jobu. (noone ever catches that reference bonus points to whoever gets it)
I'm with drag, if the man wasnt pushing his latest and more pricey product, they were probably out of it, or they have strong dealer incentives to get rid of the old ones.
Welcome to KF, and congrats on your future 250, somebody out there will treat you right and get you on 2 wheels. Get pics up when you get it home.

welcome to the forums, I would def. hold out untill you can find an 08' and about the salesmen thing, that's just how most of them are especially when there overstocked on a product and a new one is coming in soon that everyone wants. Good Luck!!
and to Prom I played baseball for 15 years so I know that saying is from the movie Major League out of themouth of Pedro Sorano....I'll take those bonus points now

Ah. Most dealerships can find any bike and get it to you if they really want to. I have friends that are salesguys at a bike shop and they deal with other bike shops who in turn help them out also. So Jason is quite the turd!
that's def. true but the 250 and new 10r are really really hard to get now.I'd give it another month maybe two before every dealer has stock, unless u can get on the waiting lists....also depends on were u live it think
Ya, I'm on a waiting list at two different shops right now. My bro's friend is a salesman at a shop where I live and is gonna hold one for me. I'm just impatient, I guess. [&:]
