Please know that the colder (read denser) the air the more fuel must be introduced to maintain a given AFR. On our carbs, that involves larger main jets and/or raising the needles' position in the main jet. I have found the mixture screw setting at 2.5 turns out works just fine but it also can be used to add fuel to the very low RPM range.

Default *update*

I have opened up the carb, and replaced the 132 DJ main with the 128 DJ main
At the same time, realizing I was in fact running a #38 pilot not a #40 as originally thought and stated. Oops, sorry about that.

Airbox lid installed, snorkel and backfire screen removed.

I also decided to see what I could do about the needle height, and placed the c-clip on the 4th notch from the top, thus creating a richer mix in the mid range.

set the air/fuel screw to 2 3/4.

bike has good bottom end, midrange is pulling like a mule and top end seems happier. Had a strange bog out going from WOT to 3/4, almost like a miss, was low on fuel... hit reserve shortly thereafter if that means anything.

low throttle cruising seems jerky, not sure if im too rich on the idle mix or what. either way, im seeing an improvement in midrange, possibly due to it being on par with a bumped up pilot and main.

more to come

Temperature is around 10 C
