Default Another '09 with valve cover gasket leak

Just bought a used '09 and noticed oil leaking from the valve cover right where the front "half-circle" is on the right side. Went ahead and ordered a new one (out of warranty) and will replace soon. For now I took it off and globbed a bunch of Liquid Gasket 1104 on it (same as yamabond) and put it back together, which was a chore trying to get the damn thing back in place because it shrunk! After reading up a bit, looks like I should have followed directions and put a thin layer of liquid gasket instead of two thick layers (to try and hold it in place while assembling). Oh well, hopefully not too much squished out inside the motor . Couple good rides and no leaks yet, guess when I replace it I'll see what a mess I made. Probably change the oil and filter and hope it caught most of the gunk.

Enjoy!

Be careful putting too much of that on - especially up there.. It spreads out a lot when you torque the cover down - that dries (or doesn't depending on how long you waited)...

You don't want big globs of that stuff floating around...

Yeah, unfortuntly it's too late now. I'll be curious to see what comes out when I drain the oil.
