VALVE COVER GASKET

just received my valve cover gasket for my 93 zx7 and i need to know if i have to put any kind of gasket sealer on or just place the gasket on?

Your manual will state this issue. However, I have not had to add any other sealer in my exploits into my 90 zx7 cover gasket.

just seal the bottom of it to the head. its rubber and reusable.

the sealant will just affix it to the head to keep it there for future service when the cover is removes for valveinspection and adjustment.

no need for sealant on the top.. besides, you'll trash your (probably pricey..) gasket if it's sealed top and bottom the next time the covers removed.
