Default alternator/crankcase cover oil leak

Was lubing my chain when I noticed some silvery substance was near my shifter. It was seeping down from the alternator/crankcase cover. I'm assuming it's oil mixed with something. It was quite silver in color, and relatively thick. Last time I removed the cover was to install the Krieger Manual CC Tensioner, which was a while ago. This is the first time noticing any seep. Solutions?

It's the "alternator rotor bolt cap," just for clarification.

I took it off, inspected. Oil looks good. Not dirty. Thinking the o-ring might just be lousy. I've already had to replace the oil filler cap's o-ring.

Plus, I can only tighten it so much with a quarter and a pair of pliers, before the quarter bends.

If the o-ring is damaged then replace it. I always use a bit of rtv on the sealing surface just to make sure.
