If done right and cared for proper, then it should last as long as any OEM parts.

install it yourself, it isn't really that hard.

NO mechanical skills,(or tools) whatsoever....I have no problem paying for the work, just not the over inflated flat rate BS of the stealership

I had the KK330 kit and suffered a cracked cly at around 8-9000 miles on it. Its a bored and plated kit no sleave.

I elected to go with the BB351 bored and sleaved kit as replaxement. Its my gut feeling that thinning the walls and changing to steel will do me better than just thinning the walls. That and I dont want to put in the same thing becuase that did fail.

Just my 'pinion
Cheers, Jim

Sounds like you know your limitations. The big bore isn't hard to do, but there are many steps that have to be done correctly. Any number of small mistakes can lead to trouble, and trouble can be expensive. I'm sure you, or anybody, could do it, but I wouldn't blame anyone that chooses not to. Good luck with your search for a decent mechanic.
