Well, At the hardware store I found a square sewer drain lid that looks like it can ubolt on to the stock rack.... will give that a try and post pics. I plan to put a kolpin gas tank on it. with wing nuts to remove the mount...

 

Cool! I love when you can find something off the shelf and it just works. Case in point. I had a rack made for the Honda a couple of weeks ago, and to tie everything onto it I got some ROK straps that you slip knot to each of the slots. However I wanted to improve it and make it faster to take off all the straps, so I hunted high and low and could not find a clip anywhere on the Internet. Long story short, I went to the local hardware store and in the automotive section I found roof rack straps and the clips were a perfect fit!!!









With these clips I can swing them off in a second, instead of having to slip each one off through the slip knot.
