Hi!
I have my 2018 KLX250 Camo but very little chances to go off-road so I am planning to do some Supermoto conversion (also because I really like how they look).
I already ordered the front fender from the discontinued KLX250SF and I was reviewing wheels alternatives.
I definitely prefer the solid wheels instead of spoke wheels so in my research I found that Marchesini offers Forged Supermoto Wheels that looks perfect to me but the cost is crazy.
So I also found that the KTM200 wheels looks very similar (from what I can see) at lower price but I have no idea if they are going to be compatible.
You can see the wheels size here:
So my question is; Are they compatible? and if so, how good/bad idea is that going to be?
Remember you're going to have to get proper sized rotors or do whatever kind of mount it would take to do the KTM wheels. I'd be looking at Kawasaki EX250 or 500 wheels used with rotors, better chance of fitting, but then again if it was me I'd lace up a set of rims with spokes. Far far less expensive.
Do a search for supermoto wheels here to see if it's ever been posted as being done.
Hello did you have any success with the KTM Wheels? I want to do exactly the same as I have a set from a RC200 lying around and was just wondering how difficult it was?
ok cool will check it out in the next few weeks - I already have the wheels so its a matter of putting them next to the bike and seeing what mods need to happen.
I also have a DRZ400SM fork lying somewhere and will try to see if I can keep the same triple clamps and change only the tubes to fir the DRZ ones.. they are fully adjustable compared to the KLX.. should then be a good SM track bike to have some fun,
