2011 KLX 250s Mods
Hello all
I just got a new to me 2011 KLX 250s that is completely stock and only has 900kms on it. I am looking to know what are the mush have mods that I should look into. I am new to this and don't know. I have done some research and have started a list below. I know some of this may be posted already but I haven't been able to confirm the year of the bike on some of it so I am asking here.
Here is my list so far but am still looking for recommendations on what brand to get.
Skid plate
handle bar
hand protectors
led signals that are more compact
led tail light that is smaller
tidier plate mount
air box mods
re-jet the carb
loose all unnecessary parts to cut weight
alloy rack for the back
exhaust
lower gearing
Thank you for your help.

Welcome !
Airbox, carb, exhaust:
You must choose your airbox config first. Lidless (max power potential), lid w/o snorkel (Good power potential) , or lid with KDX snorkel (power potential a bit better than using the stock snorkel). Please note - A "max performance" carb setup for a lidless airbox will not function with a lid - when you choose lidless, you put your lid and snorkel in the attic.
After this choice is made, there are more to follow..

The 2206 kit was designed for the KLX300R running a lidless airbox. See the instructions.
http://www.dynojet.com/pdf/2206.pdf
The instructions for the "ancient" DJ2206 kit was the "supporting information" that led me toward testing for max performance with a lidless airbox - as the two bikes are not that different.
You should not install it until you decide on, and install, performance exhaust parts..
So, next question..
Exhaust choices:
1. Full system: FMF header + FMF slipon or FSW KLX300 header + FSW KLX300 slipon (or any other KLX300R slipon) or Big Gun system..etc etc..
2. Slipon only with possibility of a header in the future. This pretty much limits the choices to the FMF slipons, the TBR slipon..etc
3. Slipon only, not ever getting a header. This opens up slipon choices to include the cheaper DG's, Delkevics, etc..
Full system will increase power mostly in the 6-10K rpm range. Slipon only will increase power from off idle up to 9-9.5k rpm.
